Render Apple ProRes Files
Apple ProRes is a high-quality intermediate codec for finishing, interchange, and archiving. You can render to multiple ProRes profiles depending on the desired quality and file size.
How to render to ProRes
- Open the Render dialog (Rendering your project).
- In the format tree, select Apple ProRes.
- Choose a template in Templates, or click Customize... to adjust parameters.
- Set the destination and file name, then click Render.
Profiles

| ProRes 422 (HQ) | Higher quality; ~220 Mbps @ 1080p/29.97. |
| ProRes 4444 | 12-bit, RGB 4:4:4; supports alpha; ~330 Mbps @ 1080p/30. |
| ProRes 4444 XQ | Highest quality; supports alpha; ~500 Mbps @ 1080p/30. |

- Frame size, Frame rate, Field order, Pixel aspect ratio
- Profile/Bit depth as supported
Audio
- Sample rate, Bit depth, Channel mode
NOTE
Bit rates above are approximate and vary with frame size, frame rate, and content. Some formats may require additional codecs or plug-ins.
